Environmental Science
Overview
The Geography and Environmental Science program explores the interactions between people, places, and the environment. Our research and teaching combine physical geography, human geography, and environmental science to address pressing global issues such as land use change, urbanization, natural hazards, and sustainable resource management. The program emphasizes both field-based learning and advanced geospatial technologies to understand and solve real-world environmental challenges.
Research Areas
Physical Geography & Earth Systems: Studying landforms, climate, water resources, and natural hazards.
Human Geography & Development: Exploring urban growth, population change, and socio-economic patterns.
Environmental Change & Sustainability: Investigating deforestation, land degradation, and renewable energy solutions.
